Safety Bites: Lunchtime
Episode 6 – A Top Dog

So, what happened this time? A bedraggled Kalle enters the Power Systems Break Room looking very much the worse for wear. The tangled tale Mo is about to hear turns out to be a real can of worms. A well-dressed Exec was out and about down in Production…

Safety concerns us all

Because health is our greatest wealth, clear rules and regulations are in place to minimize the risk on and around our premises.

Employees and guests put themselves in jeopardy by failing to wear the necessary personal protective equipment in production areas, or simply ignoring marked walkways.

Our urgently request: Please stay on the marked walkways inside factory buildings. If you do leave them, be aware that you will usually be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, hearing protection or safety glasses. These safety measures apply to everyone, even if you’re only there “just for a sec.”.

Let’s all pull together to make Rolls-Royce Power Systems a safer place to work. Plan ahead and consider the need to wear mandatory PPE before you next visit any production facility. And if you ever do forget, just ask your colleagues on the shop floor to kit you out appropriately.

Please listen and take heed should a colleague point out your lack of PPE or question unsafe behavior. The rules are there for a reason – and you just might be the reason.

Strict safety rules aren’t simply intended to harass and inconvenience you. On the contrary, they help make sure that we all return home safe and sound at the end of the day.

Watch out for yourself and take care of others. Play it safe!

Take a tip from Mo:

∙ Wear your PPE like it says.

Walk the talk.

∙ Just ask me or one of my

buddies if you need any help.

∙ Step up and step in if you see anybody

ignoring standard safety procedure –

no matter how “big” they might be.

∙ And please: Use those handrails,

they’ve been put there for a reason…
